Vendor with no ride to Sonic Bloom...HELP HELP!!

Here I am, accepted as a vendor to Sonic Bloom , but without a way to get there. Its in Winter Park Colorado, about 18 hours from here.

My van broke down, too expensive to fix.
Looked into renting a van, but since it will be full of all my vending gear I can't take lots of people with me and therefore gas will be too much to make it worth while.

So here is what I am manifesting and I need to tell the Sonic Bloom people by Monday if I can make it or not seeing as vendor payment is due Monday....eeek....help is needed ASAP!

I need to either rent someones larger car...a van, vanagon, large suv, truck with camper shell...something like that, that gets at least 18 MPG.
or need to get a ride for me and all my gear. To give you an idea of how much i have, it would fill the whole inside of a vanagon plus using the roof rack for my pop up tent, grid wall and 10 10' long bamboo poles.

If I get a ride, I will pay more than my share of gas money and if you want to help out in my booth I will get you a ticket to the event. my booth is www.thespinsterz.com/

Guitarist looking for PDX musicians to start live electronic/jamband

I'm still kinda new to Portland and am looking to start up a live electronic/jamband influenced by the likes of STS9, Zilla, EOTO, etc. I have been playing for 13 years and spent the last 7 years plying in an experimental jamband in Upstate NY. We played music more like The Disco Biscuits meets Ween. I am looking for any musicians who are interested in jamming, any instrument other than guitar is cool. I also have some experience with synths/loops/MIDI stuff, and Reason.

ALPINE SLIDE
Winter Park's ALPINE SLIDE is the longest in Colorado. With over 3,000 feet long, the heart-pounding track winds its way down the mountain. An epic ride to have on the festival site!

CHAIRLIFT RIDES
The Winter Park Resort ski lift will be open during the festival. Let The Zephyr Express chairlift whisk you from the Village at Winter Park up to an elevation of 10,700 feet. This ride offers spectacular views of the Continental Divide and the Fraser Valley. And at the top, The Lodge at Sunspot offers fantastic mountaintop dining including lunch and snacks.

OUTDOOR CLIMBING WALL
Come test your climbing skills on the outdoor climbing wall. Located between the Leaps and Bounds Bungee and the Alpine Slide, this activity delivers challenge, excitement, and adventure to your Winter Park Resort experience.

HUMAN MAZE
Located at the base of the resort, this maze twists and turns in every direction. Finding four check points and racing against the clock adds an extra dimension of challenge to the frequently re-configured labyrinth.

Zilla at Faerieworlds this Summer!

For those of you who haven't heard Faerieworlds will take place in Oregon this summer on August 1-3rd near Eugene. The weekend will feature sets by Trillian Green, the east coast jam band Telesma, the german darkwave band Qntal, the mythic music of Woodland, the renowned european band Estampie, and a big fat set on Saturday night by ZILLA!

Zilla will be one of the headliners on the evening themed as the Bad Faeries masquerade. In Philly last fall Bad Faeries night was packed and a very naughty and fun vibe. We hope you all come out and join in the mythical atmosphere as Michael Travis. Aaron Holstein and Jamie Janover lift off...in the Faerie ring outside Eugene. There will be major multimedia performances throughout the weekend, fire shows, acrobats, sphere jugglers, and more. The epic UK artist Brian Froud will be host! Details are online at:

Just wanted to give everybody a heads up on a smaller homegrown headie festival. I don’t know if any of you heard of the Joshua Tree Music Festival in Cali…but the same fella has put together another festival- Check out their myspace page. At any rate, I’m pretty stoked to be going for the 1st time.

2nd Annual Joshua Tree Roots Music Festival
October 20 & 21, 2007

The 2nd annual Joshua Tree Roots Music Festival is happening October 20 and 21 at the Joshua Tree Lake Campground, in the shadows of the infamous National Park. This rootsicana newgrassy folkadelic experience is for music loving souls of all ages. The music is continuous, alternating on two stages in one bowl, creating an intimate festival experience. Temperatures in the magical Mojave desert in October are ideal!

The festival lineup includes The Avett Brothers, Hot Buttered Rum, Uncle Earl, The Greencards, Dan Bern, South Austin Jug Band, Jake Shimabukuro, Martha Scanlan, Merle Jagger & Tim Easton, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band, the Everybodyfields, Bluehouse, Honky Tonk Train, and the Trespassers.

Plenty of on site camping. Children of all ages are welcome. The festival village includes Organic Foods, World Market, KidsVille, Art Installations, the Love Train, daily parades and more. The music begins at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, and goes til late. On Sunday, music goes from 10:30 a.m. til sunset. Dance under the stars and howl at the moon in this awe-inspiring high desert environ!

Zilla on the Playa

I played a lot of Zilla on the Playa at Buring Man this year at our bar on 3:30 and Habitat hoping that Jamie would cruise over, no luck though. However as I was playing the album Egg a guy with a sax came over and had a lot of fun, he was very good and he said he loved your music.

Hopefully you will schedule some shows in san francisco, Great American Music Hall or 12 Galaxies is a callin yas!!!!!!

at 5am outside cervantes some guys robbed 3 kidz who complied, gave them their money... and then fucking shot them in the back neck and face -- they are hopefully going to survive. does anyone know this story or kidz first hand? i left at fuckin' 10 til 5am and i am a bit wigged about this. names are not released yet but maybe we know these kids... i had a blast dancin' on the box all night by the psychedelic painters and i was seriously .. well, i won't beat a dead horse - this news makes me cry.. why must denver be so amazing yet negative.. quoth the kangster: sometimes life just isn't fair..send love and light to them..

We regret to inform you that due to a family illness Zilla will be unable to perform Wednesday January 24th in Salt Lake City, Utah and Thursday January 25 in Monroe, Utah. As many of you know, music is our life and playing for you is our utmost priority, but family is the most important thing of all.
We send our love and prayers to Jamie's family and send our love to you for your support and understanding.

Zilla's Southwest tour will resume as scheduled on Friday January 26th in San Diego, CA.

we are playing a third night tonight (tuesday) at the Salmon Bake in Denali Park, Alaska. we were supposed to drive to Telkeetna to play tonight but there are floods in Alaska right now and the road/bridge south from here is out until thursday at the eariest. we are leaving by train tomorrow to Ankorage, then fly home late wednesday night. the northern lights came out in full effect last night (so they tell me, because we (the band) were playing during the whole sighting and missed em..... maybe tonight... its been raining here - pretty much nonstop.

The Freakout Odyssey is a mind-bending electronica project with turntables, electronic drums, percussion, didgeridu, guitar, keys, and bass. They are also playing in the Boogie Universal latenight dome at the Flowmotion Summer Meltdown at 3:30 am friday night / saturday morning for those of you checking out the craziness that will be this year's Meltdown.

Levi is one of Portland's top trance DJs, regularly sharing the stage with the likes of Oakenfold, Collins, etc..

A Benefit for the White Bird Clinic and The Oregon Food Bank

Come join us at the Visitors Center for an afternoon of mingling amongst friends and groovin to some great tunes all for a great cause. Music will be provided by the Buds of May with special guest and MC Asher Fulero. Bring your friends and start the day off right. "When it's right it's right"

Where: Lucky's Eugene, 933 Olive Street
When: Saturday August 5th, 12:30pm-5:00pm
Why: Cause spreadin' the love is the right thing to do.

Admission is a $5 dollar suggested donation and two canned food items, but no one will be turned away. Please bring typical non-perishable food items. The hungry families of Oregon thank you in advance!!

No outside alcohol please. We are negotiating a drink special with the venue now. One on beer and one on a tasty cocktail. The venue is opening special for us so lets support them too.

If there is enough interest we can do a pool tourney too. Please email me if you would want to take part in this.

The Everyone Orchestra, an interactive improvisational experience known for its’ benefit shows and festival superjams, is hitting the road for a short tour. The four Northern California dates will include feature guitar superstar Steve Kimock with conductor Matt Butler, guitarist Chris Haugen (Axis Brothers), Zilla’s Jamie Janover, Mojow and the Vibration Army and more.

Traditionally, the composition of the Orchestra is a revolving roster of all-star artists, and the impetus for the tour – four dates with the same cast, has evolved out of numerous one off dates when the cast of musicians and the audience is left hungry for more. “Often, the group is just starting to really hit its’ stride together, and then the shows are over. Short tours like this one, and others in the works, will allow the musicians to stretch themselves and the boundaries of the improvisational games we play,” says Butler who is also the founder of the group.

What makes Everyone Orchestra performances stand out from other jamband collaborations is the conducting. Butler, along with several others, facilitate the interactive jams using giant cue cards and projections which direct the musicians and audience alike.

The list of previous members of The Everyone Orchestra reads like a who’s who of jamband music and beyond including members of The Grateful Dead, Phish, String Cheese Incident and Derek Trucks, experimental guitar legend Adrian Belew and a growing legion of other stellar players.

well, i am just rolling in from the mastering studio where we pulled a 10 hour mastering session after an epic 18 hour mix session (travis sat in the mixing chair for over 16 hours straight- no joke!) this has been a labor of love. i still have a few hours of work left to do on the cd cover art..... we will be sending it off before we leave for wakarusa tomorrow night.....
whoah- i'm kinda sleepy, but the kids are awake and i must pretend as if i actually havent been up for days....
just thought i would let you know......

MIssing My Monkey

Unfortunately, a very close friend of mine was abducted on Sunday, June 11th at the Wakarusa music festival in Lawerence, Kansas. His dissappearance came sometime between A.L.O.'s afternoon set and Sound Tribe's night set. I was there for the entire Zilla set (sooooo nice, by the way) and don't recall seeing him. He his purple and white, with extremely long arms and sinister grin on his face. His name is Emiglio and he has a pretty sever substance abuse problem...but we're working on it. Any information on his whereabouts would be extremely appreciated. Thanks!

I just want to express my extreme gratitude to EVERYONE involved in Sonic Bloom this weekend. To the fans, artists, crew, volunteers, employees, venue, birds, goats (yes a mysterious white goat appeared at 3 in the morning saturday night) , and buteerfliez : i say THANK YOU & I LOVE YOU.
All i have ever wanted, from as far back as i can remember, was the chance to play music with/for human beings in a way that helps create community and spread joy.
I feel blessed in so many ways to be a part of this amazing family that came together this weekend at Mishawaka.
